Surprise! Well, if you are observant you may have noticed the ‘Shop‘ items that have been scrolling along on the homepage all week while we were testing it out. Ever since I started BeautyInLagos I’ve received emails, DMs and tweets from people asking if I sell a certain product, some even ask where my store is located. So for me, incorporating a well-curated online store, into BeautyInLagos, is only a natural progression.

The idea is to give you guys that instant gratification where, if I talk about or recommend a product and you want to try it out too, then you can just buy it!

The BeautyInLagos Shop is open for business. It honestly has been a long time coming, now you can shop products I talk about/recommend, directly here on the blog! This has been in the works since March 2017, but the perfectionist in me wanted to get it as perfect as possible. So say hello to #ShopBiL, where you can shop items & products I love. Items sold won’t necessarily be limited to just beauty products, if it’s something I like and think you guys would love as well, I will have it available in the online store.

There’s already a few stuff available and a lot more being added frequently, click here to browse.

Let me know what you think about this new feature in the comments!

If you follow me on Instagram (username: @BeautyInLagos), you’d know how much I LOVE Nigerian fashion label, Maju. Whenever I wear their clothes, I usually share it on Instagram. I personally feel like Maju was what the Nigerian fashion industry was missing for a VERY long time. Made In Nigeria clothes, that were on trend, of good quality and super affordable. In terms of their clothes’ aesthetics think Zara but with the H&M price tag and a cult following to boot. Literally can’t tell you how many times I’ve been haunted by Maju pieces I couldn’t get because they were sold out before I could even get to checkout.

With that bit of background in mind, imagine how I felt when I was approached to be a part of their Beauty meets Fashion project in partnership with Lux soap. They literally could’ve picked anyone, and they asked me to be a part of it, insane! All the pieces from this limited edition collection will be exclusively available from this Sunday, 10th of September, at their shopping party in Lekki, if you’ve ever attended their shopping parties, you know the trick is to get there EARLY! Have a look at the campaign images, I will include all the credits and party details on the end of this post.

The Lux by MAJU campaign – When beauty meets Fashion

In line with the recent collaboration, Lux, the beauty soap brand from Unilever Nigeria Plc and renowned fashion brand Maju follow up on their latest campaign with the Lux by Maju Beauty Edit which features beauty influencers.

The Lux by Maju Campaign is inspired by the five variants of the Lux beauty soap range. Each soap variant is inspired by a personality which the 5 influencers we have chosen embody. The ladies have made great strides in the beauty industry and their impeccable sense of style hasn’t gone unnoticed in the fashion world.

Beauty blogger Ezinne Alfa of @beautyinlagos personalises ‘Wake me up’ personality. She is your down to earth best friend in your head who always gives the inside scoop on where to get the best beauty services & products in Nigeria.

Lifestyle blogger and beauty entrepreneur Kehinde Smith of @myextensionz covers the ‘Soft Caress’ personality. She is a bold and daring entrepreneur who isn’t afraid to go after what she wants.

Beauty influencer and Youtuber Dimma Umeh of @DimmaUmeh is our ‘Soft Touch’ personality. She is the most pleasant person you’d meet, reserved and shy, but there’s a very honest and open side to her which comes out in her videos and tutorials online.

Make up artist and lifestyle blogger Dodos Uvieghara of @iamdodos is our ‘velvet touch’ personality. She is very fashionable, cheerful and loves the finer things in life. She is a woman who loves to be pampered and will smile while at it.

Beauty Queen turned Aviator Powede Lawrence of @powedelawrence is our ‘Shake me up’ personality. She is fun loving, very adventurous and lives her life fearlessly!

The Lux MAJU edit will be available for purchase on the 10th of September, 2017 at Tickle Bay, Lekki, from 2pm.

I cannot tell you how many skin-related questions I get asked regularly. And, truth be told, I usually dodge or completely avoid such questions simply because I am not an expert; I can only share what works for my skin. And for someone who’s main goal is to help people navigate this beauty world and make better decisions, by sharing all they know, the fact that I am not able to offer more advice always leaves me feeling like I’m not doing enough.

You can only imagine how excited I am to be able to sit down with an expert and help you guys get as many of your questions answered. Dr. Bakare is a specialist dermatologist at Laserderm Clinics, an expert in providing medical dermatological care for skin conditions and passionate about providing quality aesthetic care and cosmetic dermatology for all skin types. I mentioned Laserderm Clinics here on a blog a couple weeks ago as one of my recommendations on where to get laser hair removal done (read here). I also got a Stem-cell Facial done, at Laserderm, last week which I shared live on Snapchat and Instagram (Usernames: BeautyInLagos).

Essentially, I am offering you a free skin consultation with a specialist dermatologist. Everyone knows that finding a reputable dermatologist can be a bit of a struggle, so the fact the Dr. Bakare has agreed to take time out of her busy schedule is amazing.

I will need you all to send in your questions via the comment-section of this post. Today’s Wednesday and I am sitting down with Dr. Bakare tomorrow afternoon, so you need to get those questions in ASAP.
