Smashbox being in Nigeria may not be news to some of you guys that follow me on instagram and snapchat (Usernames: BeautyInLagos), because I shared a picture and videos of this space last year, I believe. But for everyone that didn’t know, SMASHBOX IS HERE IN NIGERIA!
Although I may have mentioned it last year, I hadn’t actually gone in to explore yet. So, a couple days ago, I went in to take pictures and also find out the prices of a few products. I have to point out, I was informed by the Sales Assistant that their product prices were going to be reviewed, so I’d advice you use these prices for reference purposes.
Enjoy the pictures and as always, the store details will be provided at the end of the post.

So this week I’m taking ‘BiL Out and About‘ to ABUJA! Yves Rocher No. 1 cosmetic brand in France just opened it’s first store in Nigeria, at Jabi Lake Mall, Abuja. If you are like me and are struggling with the pronunciation it’s ‘Eve-Roshay’. I’ve got pictures of the new store as well as some shots from their launch event, but first let me share a little information about the brand.
Yves Rocher’s philosophy is to work in harmony with the environment, as each tree and each plant does with nature. The botanical beauty brand offers a range of skincare and fragrances composed of natural and vegetal ingredients, for both men and women. The brand’s commitment to botanical beauty ensures that every ingredient and formula is guaranteed to be safe and effective. All active ingredients in Yves Rocher products are extracted from plants.
So the other day, I went to check out what can only be described as our version of Boots/CVS. Invivo Health & Beauty isn’t new, I actually heard about this store 2years ago, but never got round to visiting it. I am glad I finally did and I was literally blown away by this store! Everything is laid out nicely, spacious aisles, pleasant staff and very reasonably priced products. I gave a live tour whilst there over on my snapchat (Username: BeautyInLagos), and I kept getting tweets and comments asking if this store was actually here in Lagos!
One thing I want you guys to pay close attention to are the prices of the products! Honestly, some of these prices were the cheapest I’ve ever seen here in Lagos. I tried to capture as many price points as I could, have a look at the pictures of this store below and let me know what you think in the comments.
There’s also a pharmacy in here and they offer free health checks! How awesome is that!
Yes, you read that title right, there is an ACTUAL Maybelline New York store right here in Lagos, Nigeria. Maybelline arrived in Nigeria 3 years ago, I attended their media launch event at the time and blogged about it. If you click the link to the post, you will see I asked the Maybelline team if they had plans on opening a store and the response I got was “No” and they were more concerned with getting stands in various beauty stores around the country. The fact that they launched with only three products out of their ENTIRE range was also a huge bummer, and most of you guys expressed your disappointment in the comments section of that post. I hope those commenters are still BiL readers, because this news will be music to their ears! I guess their plans have now changed, only took them 3 years *side eye*, but I ain’t mad! Anyway enough rambling….
I went down to the Maybelline store yesterday to check it out and I was completely blown away! I shared videos with my snapchat family, so they know all about it! You should follow me on snapchat, they get all the ‘juicy’ stuff first (Username: BeautyInLagos).
I have provided not just images, but prices as well because I know this is just as important. I also purchased a few items which I will share in a different post. Enjoy the pictures!

The last time I shared about Nectar Beauty Hub was last year, when I first discovered them at the Beauty Africa Exhibition. I’d been meaning to visit their actual store and share a lot more pictures and brands with you all and I am glad to finally be doing this.
Like I mentioned in the last post, Nectar Beauty Hub is a fully-stocked wholesale beauty store. Business owners can walk in to their Lekki Phase 1 location and purchase a range of products covering nearly every beauty aspect you can imagine. They’ve got brands like Mizani, Keracare, Syntonics, Elasta QP, Orly & Taliah Wajid, just to name a few. They also stock premium quality salon furniture and fittings. Literally everything you need to setup a beauty salon/spa can be purchased at Nectar. I was like a kid in a candy store whilst capturing these images, and the junkie in me could not resist making a purchase, even though it’s a wholesale store and they have a minimum number purchase, I couldn’t help myself. Where there’s a will, there’s a way! Have a look at the pictures below, I also share my haul.
La Palm Foot and Hand Scrubs
Mizani & Keracare Products
Keracare, Syntonics & Affirm Products
Cantu Shea Butter
Hair Dyes and Developers
Like I mentioned, Nectar Beauty Hub is a wholesale store, so their products and services are offered to business owners. But for my fellow junkies, I found out that if you purchase a minimum of 3 products from the same brand you can buy for your personal use.
I bought 3 products from the Elasta QP range, I have been after the Olive Oil & Mango Butter Moisturiser for ages, I also needed a moisturising deep conditioner and a leave-in. So I purchased all three from the brand and paid the wholesale price.
They also have retailers around the country one of which being the Prince Ebeano Supermarket chain. Details Nectar Beauty Hub 5 Layi Yusuf Street, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. Telephone: +234 (0) 802 424 2656 Instagram: NectarBeautyNG

Please share this post with any beauty business owners you know, with the current economic climate this will come in very handy for them as it cuts out shipping costs, exhorbitant exchange rates, etc.
With treatments like ‘Needle-free Mesotherapy’, ‘LED Light Facial’ & Cryo/Laser lipolysis, Lilian Collins Spa is ahead of the game when it comes to skincare technology ’round these parts. I was very impressed with the state-of-the art tools and equipment incorporated into the different facial and body treatments offered at the spa. I did have a chat with the Owner and will be sharing details about a couple treatments offered at the spa, look out for that post next week.
Today I am sharing with you a space I can only describe as a ‘Skincare Haven’. They also sell cult makeup brands and expert haircare products, but they have an impressive skincare section! This is the sort of store that gives me so much joy (I know I can be a tad dramatic)! I always know when I walk into a beauy space that is owned by an individual passionate about the business they are in, it is obvious in the products they stock or services they provide. It’s not just about making money for these sort of people, it’s about adding value, making a difference, making an impact in their field. Youtopia Beauty is owned by a skincare expert, I had her as one of my speakers at the last Beauty Party and she was a big hit! I have had numerous brief chats with her about skincare products and routines, as we typically run into each other now and then, but when I visited her store to capture these images I was able to sit and chat with her for a few hours… This lady knows her STUFF! I love the fact that she is concerned with skincare as it pertains to women living on this side of the globe. Products that work anywhere else are rarely able to perform the same way when used here and she is mindful of that. She’s BIG on sun protection and loves her Vitamin C serums! She also stocks products that she’s used personally, and every single product I picked up, she offered her honest opinion on it’s performance. Youtopia Beauty also have an online store, so you can shop in-store or online. It was an absolute pleasure browsing her store and I hope you guys enjoy the pictures.
