R&R Luxury needs no introduction, as they’ve been in business since 2010. The first time I came across R&R Luxury was seeing my sister use their Baobab Oil. What caught my attention was the minimal, and aesthetically-pleasing packaging. I’m a sucker for eco-friendly and functional packaging!

I tried out 5 different products from the brand and will be sharing my honest reviews.

1. The Liquid Black Soap

Rating: 5/5

R&R Luxury’s Black Soap was my first ever encounter with black soap. I was a bit skeptical because most black soaps are harsh on the face and not mild enough to be used daily, but this left me pleasantly surprised. This hasn’t got an overpowering scent and it leaves my skin moisturised. The 250 ml bottle lasts about 5 weeks.

2. Body Balm Butter (Ori-Nku)

Rating: 4/5

During the harmattan season, I was wondering how to get a moisturiser I could take everywhere with me. I needed something functional and portable. This product was IT! It’s a solid balm in a cylinder tube which you have to roll-up, to get it out. Kind of like a stick roll-on. All I had to do was roll it up, reapply on ashy areas and we were good as new. The only con is the packaging, the product keeps rolling back down when pressure is applied.

3. Shea Lip Butter

Rating: 4.5/5

This was my lip care go-to during the harmattan season. A dainty shea lipbutter formulated with raw shea butter, lavender oil, peppermint oil, and virgin coconut oil. It leaves my lips plump and moisturised and the packaging is another beauty; functionally simple in it’s sustainable paper packaging. The natural ingredients it is infused with, give it with a luscious scent.

4. The Shea Sugar Scrub

Rating: 4/5

This has got more of a creamy consistency, than a scrub. So it’s very gentle and doesn’t strip your skin of its natural oils. Ideal for dry-skin as it’s super moisturising. I like that it should be applied before bathing so it seals in moisture even after having your bath. Also has an amazing scent.
Solely because of its creamy texture, I won’t make a repurchase of this product.

5. Ori-Nku Shea Oil

Rating: 5/5

Prior to me getting this product, I had never tried shea oil. “How would it smell? Is it necessary?”, I wondered. I’m glad I went for it because this product has won my heart. It doesn’t have that “raw” shea butter scent, and this is the unscented variant from their range. It’s super lightweight and has a cap for the nozzle which can be locked to prevent spillage.

I definitely enjoyed using my products from the brand. Have you tried any of their products? Would you like to try any?
