Not sure if anyone noticed, but there’s been no Manicure Mondays posts since March. Throughout the month of April I was unable to share a single Manicure with you guys and here’s why….

Ever since I took out these GORGEOUS Sculpted manicures I had done back in November, my nails have not been the same.  And I am the one always preaching about the fact that nail extensions, overlays (wrapping) or acrylic powders weaken the nail bed, and I went and got these done. But look at them, they are so pretty!! But I think the fact I had them done back to back and then left the last one in for too long, my nails have been struggling to recover since I took these out in January. Yes, I have been sharing pictures of my manicures since that time, but my nails were so weak and growing them to that length was a huge risk.

They became so weak and just kept splitting halfway down the middle, just like in the image above. I would simply get an acrylic overlay, but it seemed like as soon as I got over a split nail, another one took it’s place and that’s how it’s been since the start of the year. So after I had this really bad break (picture above), it was so painful, I decided to cut my nails and start growing them again from scratch.

Even after I did that, I still suffered a couple more breaks and splits, but my nails are getting better and I will be sharing my progress from next week’s Manicure Mondays post! My nails a lot shorter than normal, but just like everything else they will grow and I want to share that journey with you guys. I really did not do anything special during the entire process, I just steered clear of acrylic powders and only just last week did I repurchase my good ol’ Calcium Shield by Orly. I was painting my nails like normal, but I wasn’t changing my polish as frequently as I used to, simply because I didn’t have to (no Manicure Mondays posts to update) and also I didn’t want to over do it with the nail polish remover.

So the next few Manicure Mondays posts may seem a little different from the rest, bear with me 🙂
