Despite the backlash Kylie had been receiving since she announced her latest business venture  Kylie Skin, she has now SOLD OUT on the debut collection of products. The collection launched yesterday, Wednesday 22nd May, and the first item to go was the Kylie Skin Set which sold-out in about 6 minutes after sales went live, followed very quickly by the rest of the products in the range, all gone in under 24hours!

The Kylie Skin brand received huge backlash from the international beauty community, especially from skincare experts and dermatologists. One particular product that bore the brunt of all this scrutiny was the Walnut Face Scrub.

Experts went in on the product saying physical exfoliants like face scrubs had been cancelled as they were a little too abrasive on the skin causing micro-tears, inflammation and hyperpigmentation.

This clearly didn’t stop the beauty mogul from raking in the sales!

The beauty industry can be quite hostile towards new brands and difficult to penetrate, especially now with  social media giving everyone a voice; experts and non-experts alike. This sort of backlash could easily cripple any business, especially a new one like Kylie Skin. But it seemed to have had the exact opposite effect, or perhaps her fans simply weren’t paying attention.

Is this confirmation that Kylie Skin is here to stay or could it be that the beauty mogul has a substantial fanbase of dedicated fans who are willing to part with cash for a piece of Kylie in any way they can.

Whatever the case there’s clearly no stopping brand KYLIE, so we can only wonder what new product she will be adding next to the range.
