HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!

We’re excited to announce the members of the BiL Beauty Awards Advisory Committee for 2023. These incredible women are leaders, diverse in their backgrounds, experiences, and expertise, but all share a passion for the beauty industry and a desire to promote and recognize excellence in the field. They will be sharing their expertise and insight to help make this year’s awards a huge success.

To ensure fairness and impartiality in selecting nominees and winners, we have appointed an advisory committee made up of eight accomplished women in the beauty industry. These women have been carefully selected to ensure that the BiL Beauty Awards are fair, impartial, and reflect the best of the beauty industry in Nigeria.

Meet the eight women who will be responsible for deciding the nominees and winners for some of the award categories:

1. EZINNE ALFA

Ezinne Alfa is a Beauty Editor & Expert, an African-beauty insider, with a passion to spotlight her industry to the world. She is the Founder & Editor-in-Chief of BiL; a beauty resource and consultancy, which serves as a global voice for beauty & wellness on the African continent, amplifies the Nigerian beauty industry and helps brands grow.

Launched in 2012 as the blog BeautyInLagos, BiL has now evolved into the No.1 digital beauty platform in Nigeria offering marketing, promotional and advisory services to a host of distinguished international and indigenous brands such as: Carolina Herrera, Guerlain, Lancome, Estēe Lauder, M.A.C Cosmetics, Inglot, BlackUP, Kilian, House of Tara and Zaron Cosmetics.

2. BUKKY GEORGE-TAYLOR

Ms Olubukola (Bukky) George-Taylor is a strategic communications expert, public speaker, and entrepreneurial coach.

She is the founder of Robert Taylor Media, a 15-year-old strategic communications agency based in Nigeria and co-founder of Africa’s 1st Tourism App, CRAWL AFRICA.

Bukky is skilled in Public Relations, Media Relations, Crisis Management, New Market Entry, Corporate Comms , Personal Branding, Campaign Building and more. Her work has seen her represent a diverse portfolio of local and international clients such as Estee lauder, M.A.C Cosmetics, Walt Disney Africa, Moet Hennessy, British Petroleum, Intellics, Flutterwave, iFitness, ONE Campaign and more.

With a passion for positive African storytelling, Bukky is one of Directors of The Lagos Today Newspaper. A digital newspaper sharing stories, sights and sounds from Africa’s Metropolitan City … Lagos.

With a love for lifestyle and luxury, Bukky is the Director for Strategic Partnerships of The Luxury Network Nigeria, a global affinity marketing group giving a strong platform that offers visibility and growth for African Luxury Brands.

Bukky is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, The Public Relations Society of America, The Canadian Public Relations Institute – Manitoba Chapter, The Valence Community, The Gathering Spot and more.

3. VIVIENNE ODOFIN

Vivienne has paved the way for Luxury & Beauty Marketing in her market Rivaling Global Standards & narratives anywhere in the world.
With over 30 brands in her portfolio including GUERLAIN, SALVATORE FERRAGAMO, DOLCE & GABBANA, VERSACE, L’Oreal Active Cosmetics, GUCCI , HUGO BOSS, BVLGARI, MAKARI, REVLON, SHEAMOISTURE & BLACK UP PARIS . She remains a continuous and well fortified bridge for brands & business strategies across Africa, The Middle East, North America and Europe.

Vivienne has honed the skill of curating vital brand & business strategy that works with this clime & also spanning within West Africa and other Emerging Markets.

With over a Decade of Stellar Ideation and Influencing best practices for Market Entry Strategy, Brand Experience and Building Sustainable Routes to Market and Supply way ahead of her time.

4. IJEOMA BALOGUN

Ijeoma Balogun is an award-winning journalist, Forbes Africa 30 under 30 honorees, and seasoned media & communications professional with over 10 years of brand building & relationship nurturing experience in Africa’s largest economy working with Consumer, Lifestyle, Tech & Corporate brands across mass & niche markets. Working as the CEO of Redrick Public Relations, for the past 10 years, Ijeoma has worked across various industries, engaging extensively with media and securing coverage in local & global news platforms. Ijeoma is currently looking to transition and apply her expertise in a full-time role for a Pan-African/Global brand.

5. OMOLOLA FALEYE

Omolola Faleye is a seasoned Beauty & Events entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in various industries. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Abuja, a certification in Innovation and Strategy from Harvard Extension School, and is a member of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events.

As the founder of West Africa’s premier beauty tradeshow, The MakeUp Fair Series (TMUFS), Omolola has revolutionized the beauty industry in Nigeria by providing a credible platform for professionals and businesses to expand exposure and sales. The MakeUp Fair Series has hosted 96 successful events since 2012 across 13 cities in Nigeria. She oversees strategy, partnerships and business development for TMUFS.
Omolola’s entrepreneurial journey began when she resigned from her IT/ICT Project Management position to become the brand representative for Sleek, an international makeup brand. She was recognized as the Best PR Distributor for Nigeria in 2008 and became the Managing Partner for Sleek Franchise Abuja in 2009.

Her passion and commitment to the beauty industry have earned her several accolades, including the LLA100Women award 2017, recognition as one of the Most Innovative Female-Owned businesses by SME100, and a nomination for the Beauty Entrepreneur of the Year by the Genevieve Beauty Awards.

Omolola is committed to professional development and has taken courses in Business Management, Digital Marketing, Creative Enterprise, and Project Management, among others. She is a passionate mentor who inspires and encourages young individuals to follow their heart’s desires, revels in the success and growth of businesses, and is dedicated to making a meaningful impact on her generation

6. EKI OGUNBOR

Eki Ogunbor is a fashion and beauty blogger, influencer, and the Founder of KISARA, a Nigerian fashion brand that specializes in handcrafted resort accessories, primarily handbags. She’s an award-winning former Editor at BellaNaija Style, the founding editor of bellanaijastyle.com and is on the board of advisors for TW Magazine

7. CHIKO OKPARA

Chiko is a Skincare Expert, Registered Dietitian, content creator and founder of The Restored Beauty Co, the first beauty consignment service in Nigeria.
She began her journey as a skincare professional and content creator by calling out and correcting misinformation and malpractices in the industry.
Her platform is used to empower people with up-to-date, evidence based information to help them make intelligent skincare and health choices.
Chiko is a staunch supporter of African beauty brands.

8. OMA JAY

These women bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and expertise to the BiL Beauty Awards and we are honored to have such accomplished and respected professionals on our Advisory Committee.
