Last week was ‘Beauty Week‘ here in Lagos, Nigeria… Beauty West Africa (BWA), Africa’s Largest Professional Beauty Exhibition & Conference with over 200 beauty brands and 5000+ beauty wholesalers, retailers and importers, took place last week, from the 29th November – 1st December, and we had a blast! Many of you may have already seen the recap videos and pictures posted on our Instagram Page, but we want to show you exactly what went down at Beauty West Africa Conference 2022.

As you may already know, BeautyInLagos is the official Conference Partner for Beauty West Africa. This was our 2nd year-on as Partners, and we took things to the next level.

We also hosted our largest Speaker Faculty yet, with over 30 Industry Stakeholders, Thought-leaders, Professionals and Entrepreneurs on the roster. The topics were relevant, speakers highly knowledgable and conversations engaging.

If you were unable to make it, don’t fret as we are going to give you a full recap of all that went down on each day starting with Day 1! We’ve also got full-recordings of all 5 Panel discussions, so make sure you’re subscribed to our Newsletter and following us on Instagram to be notified as soon as they drop.

For now, here’s a full re-cap of Day 1 at BWA Conference 2022:

We kicked things off with a Keynote Address by the Director, Drug Evaluation & Research Directorate NAFDAC, Mrs. Ijeoma Nwankwo. They addressed the topic of skin bleaching in Nigeria and their sensitisatio campaign against the importation, manufacturing, sales & purchase of skin bleaching products.

After the Keynote Address & Presentation by NAFDAC, we had our first Panel Discussion: Penetrating the African Market; moderated by our Founder, Ez.

There was time between Panel discussions to visit the Exhibition. BeautyInLagos also had a stand where we showcased some amazing African Beauty Brands, more on that in a separate post.

Day 2 ended with a Panel Discussion on the topic: Building a Sustainable Beauty Brand, where we heard from beauty entrepreneurs with a combined business experience of 75years.

It was such an insightful panel, as they shared so much wisdom and lessons-learnt while building, growing and sustaining successful beauty businesses in Nigeria.

Day 1 was such an incredible start to the Conference, but wait till you see Day 2.
