You can get amazing service today, and it will be a completely different story tomorrow. The ambience in a space will be perfect, but have the service pale in comparison. Finding a place that just about ticks all the boxes is extremely rare around here.”

The above quote is an excerpt from this ‘#BiLRecommends’ Introductory Post I did back in 2017. And two years later, it still rings SO TRUE! The Nigerian Beauty Industry has grown and really advanced since I typed that post, but one thing I can vouch for is that those recommendations are still so relevant and I STILL to this day make referrals based on those recommendations. I’ve decided to make this an annual thing, and we may even open it up to voting at the end of the year, like a ‘BiL Readers’ Choice Awards’, where you guys vote your favourite beauty spots or products.

Anyway so back to this post, wasn’t too long ago where if you had some sort of skin issue in Lagos, you’d begin to panic because where exactly could one find a Dermatologist? So here are a few of my recommendations for Dermatologists, Aesthetic Clinics or Medical Spas in Nigeria. If you were after a particular service like a chemical peel or laser hair removal or botox, I’d say check all of them out to see which offers the service you’re after as I do mention some specific treatments, but not necessarily the full-range offered by each spot.

1. The Aesthetic Clinic

They’ve got a team of trained Dermatologists, as well as one of the best Medical Aestheticians in the game, @PsalmuelJosephs. Their before and after images, client testimonials as well as the BTS footage on some real-life client appointments are just a few reasons why they make my list!

2. Flawless Skin by Abby Med Spa

3. Belfiore Medical

We shared the above Tweet on our Instagram page (@BeautyInLagos) that Laser Hair Removal is permanent hair reduction and NOT permanent hair removal. Which after even 6 cycles, or however much, of treatment, you will still grow hair in that area, only thing is that the amount will reduce significantly. Which led us to discover that the only means of permanent hair removal is through Electrolysis, a service that Belfiore Medical offers. They also offer botox, fillers as well as vitamin infusion. Ran by Dermatologist, Dr. Uju Rapu, Belfiore is definitely one I’d recommend.

4. Airesthetics

Offering non-surgical cosmetic/facial skin & dental enhancements, they have been in business a while. Their treatments are effective, especially their chemical peels. It’s run by Dermatologist Dr. Aire, and they also offer a range of injectables.

5. Skye Aesthetics

They haven’t been in business that long but Skye Aesthetics is fast becoming one of my favourite aesthetic clinics in Lagos. They stay pushing the bar on innovative facial treatments to tackle skin conditions prominent in our part of the world.

6. Laserderm Clinics

Laserderm Clinics are one of the OGs in the medical-aesthetics game. If I had to make a recommendation about 3/4years ago, Laserderm would probably have been the only one on my list. Known for their chemical peels & laser hair removal, they also offer a range of facial treatments.

7. Oasis MedSpa

A lot of MedSpas in Nigeria offer laser hair removal treatment, but are they using the ND YAG 1064 Laser? This is the ONLY Laser option for dark skin. I personally know quite a decent number of people that get their Laser Hair Removal done at Oasis MedSpa and they’ve had no complaints. This is because the’ve got the ND YAG 1064 Laser machine. Oasis MedSpa is definitely one of the top aesthetic clinics in the country, they also have an in-house Dermatologist.
