These are my current skincare Empties! After my skin went nuts last year because of my ‘junkie’ ways (you can read all about that here); basically I was doing too much, and using to much…. I adopted a discipline where I do not purchase any new skincare product (no matter how nice and shiny the bottle may be, or how enticing the marketing campaign), until I finished one. I shared this discipline on Instagram and someone commented: “#1Emptie1Newbie always” and I was like, I love that hashtag!

Anyways, recently ran out of some products, and did a mini-haul to replace them. Honestly, it’s so much easier to shop for skincare products when you know what you want. Plus, the ‘Routine’ Consultation I had last year with Bisi of That Gemini Girl really really helped, because now I know what my skin needs and I just look for the product to meet said needs. To read more about that consultation click here: Ever Heard Of a ‘Skincare Routine’ Consultation?

I got these products from SkinScience, which is also a certified skincare retailer listed on our Directory (BEAUTYDIRECTORYNG). They’ve got a physical location which I visited and was pleasantly surprised to see they had a product expert in-store, which was brilliant! I was after a brightening toner and she recommended this one by CosRx, as well as the Acnecide to replace my previous Benzoyl Peroxide treatment. I thought them having an Expert to assist customers with their purchases was really really helpful.

  • Acnecide Benzoyl Peroxide: ₦7,900
  • The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin: ₦7,800
  • CosRX AHA BHA Vitamin C Daily Toner: ₦11,000

The Benzoyl Peroxide and Alpha Artbutin are repurchases, replacing the my empties. But the CosRX AHA Toner is a newbie!

These products I got from Skincare Lagos. I ran out of my Niacinamide and Vitamin C serums, and decided to try different brands this time. The Timeless Vitamin C I’d used before and prefer the consistency to the one I just finished by Naturium. And Good Molecules is a brand I’ve been eyeing, so decided to purchase their Niacinamide to try out.

Good Molecule Niacinamide Serum: ₦7,000
Timeless Vitamin C Serum: ₦12,000

Just realised, I’ve haven’t shared a haul like this on the site in a while! Considering my favourite post/article to read on other sites is product hauls and recommendations, I wonder why I haven’t shared one myself in a while.

Anyways, hope you enjoyed this post and please share with me what products you recently purchased or are loving.
