Remember the most important rule when layering serums is to apply the one with the thinnest consistency first. So you are working with consistency, not type of product, from thinnest to thickest! As a matter of fact, before you read this post check out this previous post first: 8 THINGS TO NOTE BEFORE GETTING INTO SERUMS

Ps: If you are wondering where to get any of the Serums listed check out our beauty directory where we have 20+ different Nigerian skincare retailers listed: BEAUTYDIRECTORYNG

For Acne, you can layer the following Serum combinations

Azelaic Acid + Niacinamide

or

Azelaic Acid + Hyaluronic acid.

Azelaic will work to treat acne and pigmentation, while Niacinamide or Hyaluronic will hydrate the skin. For Azelaic look for a concentration of at least 10%, for Niacinamide at least 3% and Hyaluronic 2%. You may find serums that combine all three but the concentration also matters.

Other combinations for Acne include

Salicylic Acid + Niacinamide

or

Mandelic Acid + Hyaluronic

or

Mandelic Acid + Niacinamide

or

Benzoyl Peroxide + Azelaic
(watch out for drying)

Also, these combinations work well together:

Tretinoin or Adapalene

+

Niacinamide or Hyaluronic Acid

The Niacinamide or Hyaluronic will serve as a buffer against irritation from the Tretinoin or Adapalene.

You can see Niacinamide goes with literally everything!
