If you’ve ever asked me for hair advice, the first question I probably asked you is: do you deep condition? And if you said no, the next thing I probably told you was: you need to deep condition. Deep conditioning is ESSENTIAL to healthy hair. One thing I always say is that, if you do nothing else, make sure you deep condition. We all know moisture is KEY to healthy hair and deep conditioning really allows the moisture to get deeper into the strand. There are a million and one deep conditioners out there and I have many favourites but here are my top 5 at the moment:

1). Natural Nigerian Moisturising Deep Conditioning Treatment

If you follow meon Instagram, you know I raved about this deep conditioner. It’s a Nigerianbrand, which makes it very handy, and I can assure you that the owner ofNatural Nigerian knows what she’s doing. The ingredients in here are healthy, beneficial ingredients and it leaves the hair so soft and defined as well asstrengthened.

2). Nubian Roots Deep Conditioner

I came across thisone at Medplus one random day and I loveddd it. It has so much slip, whichmeans it’s very easy to detangle with it, and it is VERY moisturising. It isvery light so I wasn’t expecting it to be so moisturising on my very thick hairbut it really was. It left my hair soft and my curls defined. I think a bigpart of that is that it contains aloe vera and shea butter, both of which areexcellent for softening hair.

3). Shea Moisture Manuka Honey

source: target.com

This one is an OG fave of mine. It’s probably one of the first deep conditioners I used and it gets the job done. It is thick enough to coat the strands but not so thick that it leaves the hair weighed down after rinsing. It is consistent so my hair always feel soft and hydrated after I use it.

4). Mane Choice Green Tea & Carrot Deep Strengthening & Restorative Mask Treatment

I didn’t expect tolove this one as much as I do but this is a winner. It’s not cheap but you getvalue for money because this one does what it says on the tube. It trulystrengthens and truly moisturises. It is quite rare to find deep conditionersthat strengthen as much as they hydrate and this one does. It is also one ofthe few deep conditioners that you can actually detangle with. If you want toinvest in something, get this!

5). Pantene Gold Series Repairing Hair Mask

You don’t have tohave a Beyoncé budget to take care of your hair. That’s where this comes in.From what I read, this line of products was formulated specifically for afrotype hair (natural and relaxed). I REALLY like this deep conditioner! It leftmy hair like candy floss – soft and bouncy. My hair was defined, it was easy towork through the hair and it is affordable!

Ultimately, youdon’t have to use these exact products! They are suggestions. As long as youare deep conditioning one way or another, all is well!
