  1. You cannot get laser if you have active herpes in the treatment area. If your herpes is inactive, be aware that laser can stimulate a herpes breakouts. You may need prophylactic treatments and anti viral meds.
  2. You cannot get laser if you’re on anti-fungals.
  3. You cannot get laser if your medication causes photosensitivity. Medicines ending in ‘-cin’, Like Amoxicillin, are usually photosensitive.
  4. You cannot get laser if you’re on blood thinners. This includes aspirin.
  5. You cannot get laser if you have implanted devices. Ex: pacemaker, IUD
  6. You cannot get laser if you’re prone to keloid scarring.
  7. You cannot get laser if you’re taking photosensitive herbs. Ex: St. John’s Quarts
  8. You cannot get laser if you have cardiac abnormalities.
  9. You cannot get laser on tattoos. Laser for hair reduction and q-switch lasers for tattoo removal are completely different.
  10. You cannot get laser if you have psoriasis (auto immune disease, eczema, dermatitis or have rashes.
  11. You cannot get laser if you’re using retinoids, acne medication, AHAs or BHA or other resurfacing treatments like dermaplaning, peels or microdermabrasion. Wait 1-2 weeks before & after laser.
  12. You cannot get laser if you’ve waxed, threaded, tweezed, sugared or bleached. You can only shave for laser.
  13. You cannot get laser if you have hyperpigmentation disorders like vitiligo or albinism (auto-immune)
